👀 your eyes too speak more than your words

Imagine you are in a meeting with your client, catching up with a long halt friend, a date with your significant other – ‘You speak in the most luxurious of ways with the most compelling of styles. But during the conversation, your eyes are facing toward the ground or glued to your phones. Do you feel the listener would be convinced? 👎

Or consider the President of your country, who is giving the most powerful speech that your nation has ever heard, but his eyes are earthed towards not you but to the paper in the podium. Do you feel important?

I would probably not vote! 👎

I met this once upon a time stranger, eventually one of our Managers at our office, who went on to become of the best teachers of the power of eye contact. He was very simple and subtle but I saw in him a uniqueness, a specialty while he speaks 🙀

And when he speaks, the entire room just goes, shshshshshsh….
The attention he gets is just mind blowing 😱

He not only speaks through his words but also speaks to the hearts of the listener, he makes the other person feel so important, and most importantly he makes you feel special ❤️

I would say even if you were on your deathbed, you would still listen to what he got to say

I asked him, “What is your secret formula?”

With a gentle smile, he replied, “Speak to the eyes of people, that is power.”

One famous actor says ” Love is not in physical contact It is eye to eye ”

Let me tell you, speaking to the eyes of your listener will:

1) Build connection – shows that you are actively engaged and pays real attention for what he got on your plates to offer

2) Develop trust – shows that you are sincerely concerned and honest of what you say. It signals to the listener that you are very open and transparent

3) Drives attention – you automatically capture the attention of your listener and encourage them to focus on the conversation

We followed this simple chemistry and aced our game of speaking to the eyes of the people!

So the next time when you want to stand out in a meeting, feel more loved, engage a little better, and convince your idea – try to follow this simple exercise!

Speak to the eyes! 👀
Let me repeat – speak to the eyes!
