Trainee DevOps Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Assist in managing and monitoring installed systems and infrastructure.
Support in installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
Help ensure high levels of system and infrastructure availability under supervision.
Assist in monitoring application performance, identifying potential issues, and learning how to apply fixes.
Participate in maintaining basic security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
Learn to write simple scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Support senior engineers in the design and documentation of information and operational support systems.
Provide initial (L1) support and escalate issues to higher-level engineers as needed.
Work alongside vendors and IT team members to understand problem resolution processes.
Work on a shift basis, including evenings or weekends, as required for operational coverage.

Key Requirements

Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (final-year students or recent graduates are encouraged to apply).
Basic understanding of cloud computing concepts (AWS/Azure knowledge is an advantage).
Eagerness to learn cloud platforms, automation tools, and DevOps practices.
Familiarity with Linux/UNIX operating systems is preferred but not essential.
Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, Python, or similar) is an added advantage.
Good problem-solving skills and willingness to work in a team environment.
Strong passion for learning new technologies and developing practical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are a must.
