Terms of Reference
Production or mechanical engineer with the following skills:
1. Mechanical Design & CAD – Machine structure design, component integration, 3D modeling and technical drawings
2. Arduino Programming & Control Systems – Microcontroller programming, stepper motor control, automation systems
3. Manufacturing & Materials Expertise – Materials selection, fabrication processes, die-making
4. Resource-Constrained Problem Solving – Creative solutions for material shortages, simplifying complex mechanisms, adapting designs based on testing feedback
5. Project Management & Documentation – Timeline management, budget tracking, technical reporting, coordinating with workshops and suppliers
Chemical engineer / material engineer / material scientist / chemist with the following skills:
1. Materials Science & Selection – Expertise in identifying suitable materials for sanitary pad production
2. Adhesives & Bonding Systems – Knowledge of glues, sealants, and bonding agents suitable for sanitary pad production and rural manufacturing conditions
3. Thermal Processing & Temperature Control – Understanding heat treatment, embossing processes, and materials behavior at operating temperatures (150°C)
4. Local Material Sourcing & Alternatives – Experience finding substitute materials in developing markets when primary options are unavailable
5. Cost-Effective Problem Solving – Ability to recommend practical, affordable solutions that work within budget constraints and local availability.
