We are hiring Job Title: IT Technician

Location: Sri Lanka Insitute of Biotechnology (SLIBTEC) Pitipana, Homagama

SLIBTEC is a high-tech ecosystem fostering innovation through cutting-edge technologies, dedicated facilities, and a vibrant research culture. It provides a linear research and development manufacturing platform for the biotechnology business.

Responsibilities:

– Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability

– Troubleshooting hardware and software issues

– Ensuring electrical safety standards are met – Repairing or replacing damaged hardware

– Upgrading the entire system to enable compatible software on all computers

– Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level

– Performing tests and evaluations of new software and hardware

– Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting

– Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues

– Conducting daily backup operations

– Managing technical documentation

– Other duties as assigned.

– Specification development and evaluation

We are looking for:

– Diploma/ HND in computer science or related field

– Minimum 2 years of experience in computer networks , systems maintenance and related field

– Open OS , Programming Languages , Cisco Certification is an added advantage

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Sinhala

– Good interpersonal skills and Leadership Competencies and Skills

– Good organizational skills

– Good computer skills with knowledge in software such as Microsoft packages

– Ability to work independently Good written and oral communication skills

– Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, meeting deadlines, and working well under pressure

– Keen to get into the sharp end of business with the ability to develop solutions to complex problems which require the use of ingenuity, innovation, and creativity

– Computer Literacy

– Exceptional organizational skills.
