Ninewells Hospitals – Colombo

Ninewells Hospitals is seeking an experienced Biomedical Engineer to lead our Biomedical Engineering Department.

The role involves overseeing installation, calibration, and maintenance of all medical equipment, managing service records, coordinating with clinical teams and vendors, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

You will also guide staff and provide technical input for procurement to ensure uninterrupted biomedical support for hospital operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university.

Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a hospital/biomedical engineering environment.
Hands-on expertise in maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment.

Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with clinical teams.

Familiarity with biomedical device safety and regulatory standards in Sri Lanka.

Experience supervising junior staff will be an added advantage.
