Senior Data Engineer / Data Engineer – Advanced Analytics

Join Sampath Bank PLC and help build the foundation for next-generation AI and data-driven banking.

We are expanding our Advanced Analytics Center of Excellence (COE) and looking for Senior Data Engineer and Data Engineer who are passionate about building scalable, high-performance data platforms. Location: Onsite (Sri Lanka)

🔧 What we’re looking for:

🔹 For Senior Data Engineer:

*       5–8+ years of experience in data engineering

*       Bachelor’s in CS, IT, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar

*       Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)

*       Experience in implementing data lake and Lakehouse architecture

*       Experience in ETL/ELT processes and data modeling

*       Hands-on experience with real-time streaming (Kafka, Spark, CDC workflows)

*       Strong coding skills in Python,  PySpark , PL/SQL

*       Experience with Docker & Kubernetes , AirFlow DAGs ,Git

*       Ability to design systems and mentor team members

🔹 For Data Engineer:

*       2–4 years of experience in data engineering or related roles

*       Bachelor’s in CS, IT, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar

*       Strong foundation in PySpark and PL/SQL , AirFlow , Git

*       Experience in ETL/ELT processes and data modeling

*       Exposure to cloud environments and big data tools

*       Willingness to learn and work with modern data architecture Prior experience in the BFSI sector will be considered an added advantage

🚀 What you’ll do (both roles):

*       Build maintain and document scalable data pipelines and ingestion frameworks

*       Develop batch and real-time data processing solutions

*       Support Lakehouse implementations

*       Ensure data quality, governance, and security

*       Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, BI teams, and platform teams

*       Contribute to building a strong data engineering culture and best practices
