Head of Purchasing

HEAD OF PURCHASING KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:-

• Lead supplier negotiations to secure the most favorable pricing, payment terms, and service levels.

• Recommend sustainable, innovative, and cost-effective packaging solutions to support the sales team and business goals.

• Continuously review and adjust Minimum Order Quantities (MOQS), reorder levels, and lead times based on updated sales forecasts and inventory turnover.

• Maintain optimal stock levels by managing packing material inventory efficiently, avoiding both overstocking and stockouts.

• Drive cost-saving and value-engineering initiatives without compromising product quality or operational efficiency.

• Ensure timely receipt of Goods Received Notes (GRNs) from suppliers to support smooth TIEP cancellation processes.

• Monitor supplier performance and develop strategic partnerships with key vendors.

• Collaborate closely with sales, operations, and finance teams to align procurement with overall business objectives.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:-

• Age between 40-50 years.

• No gender preference.

• A degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field is required; an MBA would be a distinct advantage.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar senior procurement or purchasing role.

• Experience in the Tea Industry or FMCG/manufacturing sector will be a definite advantage.

• Strong knowledge of sourcing, vendor management, and inventory control processes.

• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
