Career Opportunity: Assistant Manager – Sustainable Business

Jay Jay Mills Lanka is a apparel manufacturing company committed to innovation, excellence, and sustainable practices. We are looking for a passionate and technically sound professional to join our Sustainable Business team and drive our environmental and compliance initiatives at the Group level.

Role Overview We are seeking an Assistant Manager – Sustainable Business to lead and manage critical environmental compliance, chemical management, and sustainability frameworks across our facilities.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong technical knowledge of textile chemical management and global sustainability indices.

Key Responsibilities Global Frameworks: -Manage the Higg FEM module end-to-end for the Group.

Chemical Management: Manage chemical inventories, maintain ZDHC and Bhive accounts as per requirements, manage CleanChain migration, and generate InCheck reports.

Performance Analysis: Conduct facility-wise Sustainability Performance Reviews, including detailed data analysis.

Brand & Customer Portals: Fill, update, and manage various customer sustainability portals.

Audits & Verifications: Conduct internal sustainability audits, facility visits, and sub-contractor on-site verifications. Lead the OEKO-TEX® STeP Self-Assessment process in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Policy & SOPs: Review and update SOPs and policies to align with local regulations and customer requirements, and secure Management approvals.

Capacity Building: Design and conduct training sessions on Higg FEM, RSL, MRSL, and chemical management for internal teams.

Qualifications & Experience Education: Degree in Engineering or Environmental Management from a recognized university.

Experience: 4–5 years of hands-on experience in the apparel and textile manufacturing industry, specifically in sustainability or compliance roles.

Required Skills & Competencies :-

Strong technical knowledge of chemical management in the apparel and textile sector. Solid understanding of Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001, ISO 50001). Knowledge of OEKO-TEX® STeP will be a distinct advantage. High negotiation skills with the ability to influence and convince stakeholders. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
