A full-time Research Assistant position is available at the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, University of Moratuwa, under the supervision of Prof. Uthayasanker Thayasivam.

The research focuses on Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Speech Processing (including Text-to-Speech), and Augmented Reality (AR). The selected candidate will develop AI-powered solutions for intelligent AR applications by designing, training, and evaluating state-of-the-art deep learning models using large-scale datasets and high-performance GPU computing infrastructure.

This position is particularly suitable for individuals interested in pursuing MSc, MPhil, or PhD (by Research) while building a strong research profile in Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing.

The appointment is for 12–36 months (full-time) with an attractive monthly stipend, opportunities for international research collaboration, and access to high-performance GPU computing resources.
