The Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka (DPA), established under the Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022, is expanding its leadership team and invites applications from experienced professionals to drive compliance, supervision, and capacity-building initiatives across Sri Lanka. As the national regulator for personal data protection, the DPA plays a critical role in ensuring responsible data processing, strengthening institutional capacity, and building public trust in the digital ecosystem.

🔹 Position: Senior Director – Market Supervision & Capacity Building

🔹 Location: Colombo

🔹 Closing Date: 18 May 2026

🔍 Key Responsibilities:-

• Oversee supervision of data controllers and processors across sectors

• Review data breach notifications and data protection impact assessments

• Engage with Data Protection Officers and issue regulatory directives

• Lead nationwide capacity-building and training programmes

• Drive awareness initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and international cooperation

🎓 Ideal Candidate Profile :-

• Strong academic background in IT / Data Science / Business / Economics or related field

• Proven senior management experience (preferably in regulatory/supervisory environments)

• Experience in compliance monitoring, audits, or capacity-building initiatives

• Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership capabilities
